Howdy,

Another week of surviving society's weakness, with some adds in the form of
NUM SKULL and LUCIFERION. NumSkull is heavy, pounding, ranting, flat-footed
ass-kicking death metal in the primitive, violent, pulsing style the
Americans innovated with acts like Master, Baphomet, Suffocation, and
Cannibal Corpse. While this isn't going to raise eyebrows at the Juilliard,
I think it's PHAT, and it's getting some heavy response from listeners.

1. Num Skull "When Suffering Comes" (Defiled)
2. Monstrosity "Millenium" (Conquest Music)
[ If you haven't heard this album yet, you're missing out. It takes
the best of death metal's percussive expression & combines it with the
rhythmic intensity and tonal complexity of speed metal; a masterpiece we
will live by in the future! ]
3. Luciferion - Demonication (The Manifest) (Osmose)
4. Vader - De Profundis (Conquest Music)
5. Brutal Truth - Kill Trend Suicide (Relapse)
6. Sacramentum - Far Away from the Sun (Adipocere)
7. Burzum - Filosofem (Misanthropy)
8. Drogheda - Pogromist (Wild Rags)
9. Deeds of Flesh - Trading Pieces (Repulse)
10. Kataklysm - Temple of Knowledge (Nuclear Blast)
11. Kvist - For Kunsten Maa Vi Evig Vike (Avantgarde)
12. Emperor - In the Nightside Eclipse (Century)
13. Necromass - Abyss Calls Life (Morbid Metal)
14. Niden Div 197 - Toward Judgement (Necropolis)
15. Rise - Shadow of Ruins (Nigma)

Other intense listenings included Caveman's five-song demo EP which can only
be described as "ambient epic thrash-rock," if that gives you any idea
what's going on. A project of B.T. members and other mad minds, this
creative collage is a fest for those starved of the aesthetics of the
condemned. Look for this to rise in yet uncultivated areas of extreme music!

Vomit,
Spinoza Ray Prozak
