Hail,

This week we are playing a balance of death and black metal always
precariously tilting to a side, either side...the talent pool is
stronger than ever, whether or not the scene is decomposing. We
point you for further reference to articles published on our web
site, http://www.anus.com/metal/.

1. Sacramentum - Far Away From the Sun (Adipocere)

Death metal is not dead, it's only hibernating. In the meantime the
new VADER, MONSTROSITY, KATAKLYSM, RISE and ASGARD albums are the
best of the recent, with avantgarde grindcore masters BRUTAL TRUST
blasting out a groundbreaking EP in Kill Trend Suicide. Black metal
continues with strong players SACRAMENTUM being added late but with
enthusiasm for their progressive melodic style of death/black metal
showing clear artistic conception and outrageous composition --
check these guys out, all that AT THE GATES are/were and more of the
newer wave black metal pioneering! Also melodic blasters Gorgoroth,
Niden Div 187, and Kvist lead a chain of excellent black metal
ending in master composer and arch-fiend GRISHNACK's Burzum, with
the Odinpop album, "Filosofem."

Thank you for reading, and may you survive this season of false
expectations when the suicide rate peaks for the Western World.
