"live and let live" does not work. if someone is doing something crazy that destroys what you work for, it will come back to you. the example i always use is the guy on the other side of the world who gets off sexually by either dumping toxic waste in the ocean, or creating viruses.

the concept of the "invisible hand" - whether capitalist economics or darwinism - doesn't work either. the mechanism is not that simple and, as we all know, natural law provides a logic function to life, but it takes a will to enforce higher design goals upon it.
