Necrovore, most probably inspired by Possessed, took death metal into its most deathlike lack of resemblance to normal music yet, with barely tonal and sometimes gently dissonant dirges using primitive technique. Later a formative influence on Morbid Angel's presentation and rhetoric, Necrovore inspired bands across the world with its alienation and nihilistic assault.
