1> Loops -
    High numbers of a phone exchange (like 836-9999 or 836-9998) are
usually used for "LoopS". A loop is a pair of consecutive phone numbers
used in testing toll-free lines. Anyone calling these numbers of an
active loop can hear anyone else who calls the same number at the same
time (and at the same chanel Batman!). Pirate Radio stations use this
for requests so that they won't get traced. (Right Floyd?) Also. hacks
like to use this for obvious reasons..

2> Cordless Phones
    You can listen in on calls made with cordless phones using an
ordinary radio. Many cellular phones transmit at a frequency just
beyond the AM broadcast band. Set the radio on AM and tune in past
16kHz, as far as it will go, and see what you can pick up. High-tech
voyeurs have reported hearing drug dealz, adulterous liaisons, stock
tips, and other minutiae of the glamorous lives of the cellular phone
owners. Newer phones use less accessible frequencies (but just pull out
your radio scanner for that)

3> CIA, FBI, NSA (National Security Agency)
    It is a rumer that if you say any of these when talking long
distance, you will hear a click. It is said that those parties have
voice recognition devices that are able to record automatically any
microwave conversation mentioning the agencies (Thos bastardz). NSA
alone records and screens thousands of phone calls a day. (Like, this
agency is so secret, that the employees can't say they work for it!)
Until 1978, the NSA spied extensively on domestic calls.

4> REMOB
    REMote OBservation is what the phone compony has for secret tapping
of any number they want. Ma Bell has secret numbers - one is in Iowa -
that can be used for listening in on other numbers. All they gotta do
is call the REMOB number with Touch-Tone dialer, and punch in 2!! 2
fucking access codez and then the fone number to tap! So start up your
scanners over there in Iowa.
