These collected tracks showcase the best of the last two Incantation albums, refinishing the half-thought efforts from "Mortal Throne of Nazarene" and tightening up some of the work on their first album. Production is an excellent live studio recording with most of the original lineup contributing their unique skills. Of note is a cover of "Scream Bloody Gore" from Death, patterned into the distinctive rigid textures placed in organic coherence that have made Incantation nearly its own form of death metal. As an introduction to this band, this album is unforgettable and staggering in impact. If possible, acquire the Relapse version which contains additional tracks, making the CD a full-length.
