A quickening chemical reaction resembles this album of industrial/techno beats crafted to sound like the vengeance of everyday machines primed for war into which twist the feedback-spiked dissonant melodies of this former grindcore/noise band, creating layers of washing sound which congeals upon itself in synchronization with an upsurge and pause in rhythm. The effect is between that of ambient music and being underneath an undulating soundwave, both paralyzing the listener and urging a forward motion through the synthesis and dissolution of themes in cadenced linearity. Hoarse, riot-shout vocals vary between a bloodied throaty roar in the grindcore style and a more enunciated, direct speech, yet in many cases carry tone and texture to great effect in song. Samples of industrial machinery and battle are overdubbed into the piled guitar and distorted bass soundscape, and the drum machine was been liberated toward techno-speed beats designed to sound like a machine and not an abnormally precise human drummer. While the style is unique, it is this band's method of building expectation to a climax which shifts the descriptive sounds within a song, over all other factors, that makes the simply well-done into something brilliant.
