Post-Slavestate and post-Pure recordings on a split EP, these tracks demonstrate some of the emotions which require more space for Godflesh, with a romanticist tendency in the living utility of each detail of each song and the tendency to juxtapose emotions in conflict, leaving unresolved their paradoxical coexistence. "Cold World" stretches out like a limousine and explores a simple sentiment in a complex series of realizations over time, like going outside on the day of an apocalyptic event and finding slowly how the repetition of the corelessness of existence influences one's sense of place and worth to existence. For fans this is a new glimpse at the overlooked interstitial work of a band who demonstrate intelligence and precision in their work.
