Discharge

Just as hardcore began to fail to differentiate itself from the radio punk first introduced by bands like The Clash and other pop artists, Discharge reared up from the ashes of the first hardcore bands and introduced a tremolo-strummed, fast ambient melodic metallic style of the genre which became one element of almost all metal and hardcore to follow. Direct influences on both Slayer and Metallica, this UK punk band was one of the midwives of the birth of extreme music.
