Depending on preference you the reader (and probably, Deicide fan) will either become infatuated with this or see it as re-run of a good hit. Record company demos of early Deicide works reorder the songs that made the cut for the first Deicide album, broadcasting to listeners a simpler Deicide more like the rippingly fast Slayer- and Sepultura-inspired death metal at the time. Where improved, songs on the first album are tighter and vocals are improved there in form, but for the rest there remains a good argument for the violent youthful impulse and no-nonsense delivery. Processed vocals are a minus for some yet a less static presence to the same vocals is a strength to this release. In retrospect, most of Deicide outside of Legion is quite tame, but for many these were defining sounds that will forever shape the negative penetration of death metal.
