Technocracy
Since humans are in charge of all governmental systems, it is also paradoxical that one be run from the perspective of another dominant need. It is insane that a system be run in consideration of its product instead of the process of its existence. In other words, focusing too much on the outcome and not the experience is to miss the point. Because there is no built-in factor for limiting its expansion and its only measurement of self-limitation is its tendency toward developing more technology, a technocracy is by definition uncontrollable in regard to long-term useful things like the natural environment, culture or learning. It will continue to develop technology however. The question that always arises with technology is, "are we using it or is it using us?" The answer could be that until we step up and assert control, technology will weasel a home in our lives and our governments and soon we'll be addicted, unable to stop until the end comes. |
