Media
Media encompasses all of what was once a source of news and cultural data but is now a source of "entertainment" and exchange of social tokens. This includes television, Internet, radio, cable, cellular phone services, newspapers, magazines, most books, video and billboards. Together these forms of one-way information exchange are owned by large collectives which use them to distribute similar or complementary messages for one goal: to manipulate the buying and voting population. In an age where most republics are democracies, this means the media have more influence globally than any single political entity, and the media is not recognized as a political participant nor as carrying the biases of its owners. |
