Investigators say two would-be hit men from Albuquerque may have had their sights set on the teen mega star; Justin Bieber.
They had it planned down to the ties they were going to use to strangle to the pop star and three other people. A warning, the details are pretty graphic. - "Police: NM men plotted to kill Justin Bieber"
If all celebrities died tomorrow, what would we actually lose?
CIA agents tortured a German citizen, sodomising, shackling, and beating him, as Macedonian state police looked on, the European court of human rights said in a historic judgment released on Thursday.
In a unanimous ruling, it also found Macedonia guilty of torturing, abusing, and secretly imprisoning Khaled el-Masri, a German of Lebanese origin allegedly linked to terrorist organisations. - "CIA 'tortured and sodomised' terror suspect, human rights court rules"
Our society has a rule against cruel and unusual punishments. But what if they're the best deterrent?

Classic ANUS comment. Raise an absurd solution to a non-existent problem using absurd reasoning. You don't get delusion like this anywhere else on the internet, folks. levy_queerman - 15-12-’12 04:01

They're not a deterrent you fucking idiot. No terrorist is going to stop bombing because "oh no what if the CIA sodomizes me". prozak really is a retard - 15-12-’12 04:07

Posts like these really blur the line between honest ANUSian realist thought and crafty Straussian "realist" rhetoric. However, we need to address these questions instead of just saying they are eeevil, or for "fucking idiots" or "retards".
These insults show emotion, fear, and giving up, not reason, confidence, and engagement. I give ANUS a lot of credit for asking the hard questions, even if sometimes they border on sophistry. Their writers, editors, moderators, and administrators are not perfect, neither am I, and neither are you the person reading this.
Now then: A question such as "cruel and unusual punishment may be bad, but what if it is the most effective way to deter the bad (criminals, terrorists, etc.)?" to my mind is like asking "genociding a rival population may be bad, but what if it is the most effective way to eliminate the inevitable competition in resources as both our populations grow?"
To me, it's not so much that it's baaad, it's just that it's unintelligent, or, it's just that it won't ever work. Anyway, let's keep ANUS a place for discussion (cooperative investigation of truth) and not another place for feces throwing. Time Curator 23 (Email ) (URL) - 15-12-’12 14:57

I was recommended this blog by my cousin. I'm not sure whether this post is written by him as no one else know such detailed about my trouble. You're incredible! Thanks!

And what if it's hypocrisy that inspires hatred and a willingness to kill, and not mere envy of freedom as our politicians all like to pretend? Sure, we know there are completely homegrown fundamentalist nut-jobs willing to kill purely for their sky-wizard of choice in the middle-east, we have them on this side of western civilisation after all. However pretending there the blatant hypocrisy and corruption of western governments and the fact they kill far more civilians then terrorists in pursuit of economic interests does not at all factor into the minds of many Al Qaeda has recruited makes anyone a moron, if that's what was intended.

A lot of joy for a lot of people. A not insignificant chunk of the economy; celebrities make livings for a lot of people.
