23 11 11 - 15:23I respect Bill White for his intellect and integrity, and while he and I disagree on some fundamental issues, I will never believe it's from a lack of honesty or intelligence on his part. In fact, he's one of the best and most intelligent political commentators out there.
Here's an update on his legal situation from Bill himself.
Hal Turner lost his informant contract. He wanted it back. He recruited Tim Bland and, apparently, Michael Blevins to inform on me. The three of them decided to tell the FBI that I was going to assassinate Barack Obama by blowing up the Poff Federal Building in Roanoke with a "truck bomb". The FBI fell for it and made up some charges to "take me off the streets" while they investigated.
As it turns out, I had been under investigation by the FBI for about fourteen years at that point, and they had implicated me, wrongfully, in at least 56 shootings and forty arsons or bombings. What had apparently happened was that a group of Creativity activists around Matt Hale had been allegedly behind the Smith shooting, the Lefkow killing, the Spokane bombing (which happened after my arrest) and other incidents, and the FBI had mistakenly placed me in that inner circle.
I was indicted in three districts -- Eastern District Virginia, Western District Virginia and Northern District Illinois -- and accused of being part of a "non-traditional organized crime group" that had been involved in assassinating federal officials.
I was charged with murder, extortion, witness intimidation, obstruction and threats in five indictments -- 11 counts in all. To date, I have been acquitted of four indictments and 8 counts. I was also charged with the "relevant conduct" of directing a terrorist organization and several other acts, including directing the kidnapping of Elie Wiesel. I was never charged with these acts, and they were all struck from all of the indictments for lack of probable cause.
During my imprisonment, I was brutally tortured by the federal government in an effort to make me confess. I don't like to discuss this in detail, and have refused an offer to write a book on it, but I was deprived of sleep and hygeine, kept in rooms with sub zero temperature, held in a cell flooded with human feces, held in solitary confinement for most of my time in prison, and otherwise brutalized. Originally, the government offered me a plea bargain of 35 years, against the 75 they were seeking. After my conviction in 2009, they offered, first, to release me if I would cooperate and, second, after it became clear I would be acquitted, they offered to drop all charges against me and clear my record if I would drop my appeals and cooperate. In particular, they wanted me to testify before a Congressional Committe about the ongoing "white supremacist terrorist" conspiracy they believed had killed, among many others, the family of US District Judge Joan Lefkow.
I refused to testify or cooperate and was extremely brutalized. At one point in time, I was drugged with what I was told were "allergy pills" in an effort to make me cooperate -- these pills turned out to be a psychoactive substance (I forget its name -- I will look it up if anyone is interested). I was held four months after my sentence expired and told I would never be released if I would not confess. I refused, and, eventually, on Hitler's birthday this year, a Judge ordered me released. Unlike the story given in the article, I did not move in with my arents, but live in SW Virginia.
As people may know, I am back doing construction.
I have written once about my experiences.
There are currently fourteen appeals and cross appeals pending in my case before the Fourth and Seventh Circuits. I am not currently in jeopardy of arrest. The hearing in the Fourth Circuit was held last month and it appears there will be a ruling in my favor.
It will be interesting to see this play out. If Bill White is correct, then our justice department really mis-stepped -- for political motivation.
