British Prime Minister Gordon Brown says that the armed forces should be free to wear uniforms in public, after one air base banned them following reports of abuse by members of the public over the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

"I condemn absolutely any members of the public who show abuse or discrimination to our armed forces," he said after the station commander at RAF Wittering told staff to dress in civilian clothes when they visit the city of Peterborough.

"They should be thanked for the great job that they're doing, and they should be encouraged to wear the uniform in public," he said.

Is it fair to call those who help fight the war against terror "baby killers"? Well, technically maybe they have done that, but then they were only following orders right? No one should shout abuse at soldiers - it's so hurtful - and really it's just their job they're doing like being a nurse or working at a supermarket... Actually we should be grateful to them since the Taliban being in power in Afghanistan would be only one step away from them taking over our country.
Er.... and we don't want Muslims taking over our country so we should go to the middle east and ...er sort them out there. (Some say the war should be "brought home" whatever can they mean?)
