Mass immigration could push house prices up by more than ten per cent over the next 20 years, a parliamentary report warned.

It said immigration has had 'little or no positive impact' on living standards and the government should put an immediate cap on the numbers settling in Britain from outside the EU. The report of the House of Lords' economic affairs committee also rejected government claims that high levels of immigration were needed to prevent labour shortages and said groups such as the low-paid, some ethnic minorities and young job-seekers may have suffered because of competition from migrants.

Some sense at last - no doubt hoping to make sure voters don't feel only the BNP speaks out about this - but too little too late. And the immigration will continue regardless, just watch.
