We use this term in the vernacular to include any of the great works of baroque and renaissance European composers, but there is classical music from India and China as well. Complex in structure and poetic in its expression, this music is more contemplative than popular forms, and things learned in the discovery of its theory for the basis of all that followed, including blues, rock, jazz and metal. The form most relevant to underground metal is European Romanticist music in the style of Brahms, Schumann, Handel and Beethoven.
